I am sure there are going to be differing opinions as to who owns what, is your surfer paying to see your collection of links, or is your surfer paying to see your recommendations? If using sponsor content or free hosted galleries then it is better to contact the sponsor for their opinion. I am sure once they understood that you are technically pre-screening traffic to be sent to them (sending cc holding surfers might make a difference.)
