Actually I do this a lot. Especially when you're working on a design in photoshop or making a site and you can have the most gratuitous photos open in front of you, but your attention is completely on layers, text, contrast, layout etc.
It's even weirder when you're in that mindset and someone comes in and you remember what it is you're working with.
My husband loves to come in and make shocked noises every now and again.
