I think this is a great thread that proves although some of us disagree on finer points, (see original thread title & revised title) we all seem to agree that parents need to take at least some responsibility with their offspring's online actions, rather than waiting for the US government to step in.

I read this just after it was posted, and was thinking about it whilst in the shower, (Hey, not in that way!!!) and while thinking about it came to the same conclusion as was mentioned earlier - fuck the parents. Or more accurately, fuck the parents that cannot be bothered to help their offspring. That's not to say I didn't agree with Jay's views, - hell - I think you're (Jay) pretty much on the same wavelength as most of us out here, 'cept maybe we can't express it in the way we would like.

I also did think, and please please if you are from the US don't take this the wrong way, that it's kind of the culture that is abundant nowadays, mainly from the 'compensation crowd' that refuses to take blame or consequences as a result of it's own actions. For example, a bag of peanuts needs to have stated that 'this product contains peanuts' etc. because there are too many people unwilling to take responsibility for their own actions or inactions.

I think that's a damn good post by Jay, and although I'd have titled it as UW - Fuck The (lazy assed) Parents I gotta agree 100% with the rationale behind it.

Just my 2cents on it
