First off - the people that will profit off of this is the company that started this whole campaign saying that they represented the adult industries interests and this was the "will" of the industry - in reality it was the will of a company that will sell the domains (not ICANN) that will profit from all of this.
Secondly - and most importantly - its all voluntary - no one will tell you you have to use a different domain tld - unless you let your congressmen vote a law into effect that would allow that - and then it would only affect US domain owners - of course the Canadian company that will make all of this profit from this approval is sitting back laughing that no representative of the real adult industry came forward and said - no this is not what we want during the public comment period.
