Unsolicited spam is never welcome and it’s twice as annoying that someone chooses to run his business like this. It is a business and people should act accordingly or suffer the consequences of their bad behavior. This isn’t enthusiasm, this is stupidity, and there is a big difference between the two.
There’s a lot of people starting up Link Lists…they go about getting submitters through the proper channels, they honestly work to build their submitters and traffic. I wouldn’t even mind if he had sent a personalized email or dropped a PM, or did anything that took an ounce of effort on his part (that would be enthusiasm). I probably would have considered submitting then…but to take a form letter, rip emails from other LL’s, and do it that way….sorry, that just sucks. Is it cheating? You can make a good argument that it is cheating…but in the minimum it’s an extremely cheap tactic that shouldn’t be just brushed off.
