I'm really impressed by the reasoning the court uses in cases like this. Particularly a court that supposedly all hoped up on 'states rights'.

All narcotic type drug laws use to be state laws. Often used against minorities such as the Chinese, or the mary jane laws in the south against blacks.

The federal drug laws come under the interstate commerce clause of the constitution.

So what do pot growers in California that use it for medical reasons, but not to sell, especially in interstate commerce, have to do with the interstate commerce clause?

Well the government argued that by growing and distributing amongst themselves they are affecting the illegal interstate market!

You got reach deep where the sun don't shine to pull that one out

My prediction: The Feds will legislate that unmarried sex (or something like that) is illegal. They will argue that it they have the ability to regulate it since unmarried people having sex affect the interstate call girl market.
