What a way to do business.

Very long story short, my hinges on my Dell Inspiron 8200 broke a month ago, and after getting jerked around by Dell for the last 2 weeks in email and phone calls, Dell tells me the part I needed would be shipped last week.

Still no part so I call and get told “It will never be shipped” and then a different person says it will be shipped tomorrow and then a supervisor tells me “it will never be shipped” and explains why.

It is what Dell calls a “warranty part” meaning, no warranty, no part and it is not for sale even though I bought it last Wednesday and have the tracking number, he told me the system would have canceled it before it was shipped tomorrow. Toni takes care of all the billing and hell will have no fury greater then mine if I see a charge from Dell when she gets home.

My warranty of course has expired. So after I tell him my new found opinion of Dell I hang up and think, why not buy a warranty? Of course the site says I cant do it, so I sit here and fester my “happiness”

Then it comes to me… EBAY…. What are the odds…. 50+ listings for the very part I need… $0.18 and $12 shipping… Dell wanted $30 So I went from being pissed off at the world to being pleased.

Just a warning, STAY AWAY FROM DELL, they do not support their products.

So what I leaned today

1) Dell sucks
2) EBAY ROCKS!
