I changed my mailing info no problem when I moved (October 2004). They told me they needed a fax only when I enquired about changing the name on the check.
Gotta admit I can't remember exactly what I did, might have been just using the contact info, although I do seem to remember receiving a mail telling me about account changes, akin to when I periodically change my p/w so it could well be somewhere in the admin.
