when you download free pics unzip them click on pic ,left click, click on properites and you will get size of pic and kb. or bytes mostly the biger the bytes the better the pic but dont have pics so big bytes wise that they eat your bw/ data transfer

also most older pics are for dial up small pic file bytes load faster but pics look bad
