We moved to California 17 years ago. My thinking at the time was "how wonderful to bring my children up in an atmosphere of freedom and tolerance."
Oops.
That, like so many other decisions I've had the misfortune to make, didn't work out so well.
It's only going to get worse. Most people aren't aware - or chose not to be aware - of how quickly their rights are being eroded.
