I had a couple of similiar sponsors, and I dropped them. If they don't keep the webmaster area up to date, I get cautious about what is going on in the members area. That caution combined with crappy ratios made me bail. Generally speaking, if I know the program is solid, I will try to just ride out the ebb and flow of things. Plus I diversify, and always have 3-4 "main" sponsors.
