Mornin' everyone

I'm here but not all here today. Our problems down here are nothing compared to what's going on in Louisiana and Mississippi, or what may happen with Texas and the Gulf coast this weekend. But we're barely online from here. BellSouth has a Central Office (CO) offline and all DSL services from the Keys are down. Dialup is spotty because they keep dropping calls while fixing the CO problems. Cell service through SpirntPCS is not allowing access to DNS services so we can't use that for much. Comcast can't do anything about cable modem access right now, as they're still backlogged with other damage to repair. Damn shame when my best access to the net is AOL's dialup, but that's what I have for now.

At least they got the sailboat mast detangled from the power pylon, so power is reliable again.

Plus... and this is very happy news... we're getting a new central a/c system installed today. The storm fried the one we had, so we've been sweltering down here the last week. But if things go as planned (and the truck arrives), the new system will be in today, so I can at least not be dripping sweat on my keyboard as I try to find a way online.

One nice thing, after being offline for a few days, was coming back and seeing the notes from people asking where I'd been. Thanks to all who wrote. Also nice was seeing a bunch of new sales this week. Thanks very much to everyone who's been sending traffic our way.

Damn, I've been gone too long, made me want to type too much I think, but it's too late not to read it all now.

Apologies to anyone I haven't been as in touch with as I had been. Hopefully we'll be back up to speed in a day or two here.

Simon
