webcam xp pro has a pretty good flash option that works well with most browsers. Its more of a stream than a java refresh. It also works behind pass protection.
Also, windows media encoder can be protected and if you don't have too many members viewing at once it can work really well. Not sure if you can do that with a mac.

Perhaps you can start to utilize your dominance during cam shows & make money being a bitch. I know it works for a quite a few people.
I never chatted when I did my shows. I just played & didn't look at the chat. It was a lot easier that way.
