And, I don't think it is just here where the volunteer firemen are about 40% (conservatively) drunks. It may be a northeast thing but...It's not just here.
I have always known about the drunks but since getting a scanner, I notice that you really don't want to need an ambulance around here either. I hear a tone for one ambulance company, when they don't answer, they try the next...etc. This once went on until they found an ambulance company 45 mins away that could respond. Life in small town, USA.
