I really appreciate you Chop. Rest assured, though, that as soon as the temps dropped to the low 70s and 60s, that I was shopping for a coat. FEMA and Red Cross, although very slow and annoying, are starting to loosen their grips on some aid for those of us that had the sense to get the hell out.
We, due to great friends, family and fine folks such as yourself, will be just fine. We've settled in enough to be comfortable in a scaled down version of pre-Katrina life, albeit in a town that makes Wiggins look like Mardi Gras.
Other than wall to wall "holy spirit filled" Pentecosts that seem offended by my outspoken support of risque entertainment and an average IQ of 6 or so, things won't be that bad for my visit here.
The cold really sucks, but I decided already that I'm not leaving the house until Spring if possible.
I called my landlord yesterday and he said my house is not going to be repaired, so again, the future is in the air, but as soon as we get home and resettled, I'm inviting you and Linkster and all of our Southern brethren to my place for a good old fashioned shrimp boil and seafood extravaganza.
Thanks for your concerns and suport through this. It ain't easy, but just knowing that somebody gives a damn really does lighten the load. If there's anything I can do for you, be sure to let me know. I may be down but I'm far from out.
