Ugh..you hit on one of my pet peeves. I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to copy a post I made on another forum here - the subject was 'Letter to self important LL owners'

Dear Sir/Madam,

I don't know what your thinking, I really don't. I thought that we were in a sorta partnership. I would read your rules, better yet, I would FOLLOW them. I am an honest webmaster, so I would produce at least 5 high quality free or AVS sites a week and submit them to you to fill out your link list.

In return, you would link those websites, and send me some traffic, and perhaps we could even increase our link popularity by linking back and forth.

It seemed like a really good, fair partnership.

Now, you have changed the rules.

First you were demanding that I make sure and link specific other link lists on the same page as I linked you. I thought you were being silly because the tiny % of the other link lists traffic you would actually get didn't seem worth it, but what the heck, I liked you, so I did it.

Then you said 'I don't want to be on any ole doorway pages, I demand to be on an index.html page' and I thought, gee you sure are getting bossy, and our partnership doesn't seem quite so fair now when I have to link you from the index page of my site, and you just give me a little tiny text link buried way far away somewhere in your link list. But that's okay, I will just make several mirror sites in directories and give you an index.html page link from one of them

Then you said 'No doorways, I want to be on THEE main index.html page' and I started liking you less - you seemed to have forgotten that your not just providing me with a service, I'm helping you out too by submitting sites to your ll that help you ensure a large variety of styles, niches, pictures, and the like, to make your surfers happy. But I thought, fine, I will do you this favor because I know that google PR is important - but really, how many link lists can I link to from one page?

Now, now you have gone to far though. Now, in addition to all your rules you want me to link to both your main page AND to the category page that I am submitting to! Sure, I do that for greenguy, and maybe penis bot, but you send me maybe 5 hits a week - what are you thinking?

I begin to think you have become to full of yourself, you want to be just like 'the big guys' so you are imitating them. But your not one of the big guys, your just a little fish like me. I don't care if you spent $150 to buy a link list script, and your site looks really pretty, it's not worth it to me to follow all your rules, which seem to multiply by the week, for your 5 hits a week - it's just not. It is not my job to both populate your link list AND increase your page ranking - it's yours.

I sure hope you come to your senses, or start sending alot more traffic out before everyone who submits to you comes to the same conclusion that I have, and suddenly you are stuck with a link list that has no sites being submitted to it. Food for thought.
