But almost a half of all sales last month I got from those old freesites that do get a certain amount of SE traffic.
So it is not out of place to have some SE trafic on freesites.
You definitely get SE traffic from submitting to LL's. I just think there's better ways to get SE traffic than just freesites. I think if you wanted SE traffic from freesites there's a few things you could do. If I were to come up with a working theory on it and this is just speculation on my part, but:

1. I'd think submitting to fewer LL would eliminate the duplicate page penalty. I mean if you only had 1 page, 16 recips, and it wasn't duplicated...you'd definitely remove that penalty.
2. The 16 LL's with the highest PR, that will list you regularly, and that will keep you the longest.
3. Writing a shitload of sales text for spider food.
4. Interlinking all the pages with in the freesite and having it link back to your hub.
5. Using different templates for every submit - as the same template structure might come up as a duplicate page.

I don't think you'd get "penalized" for linking one site that might be getting a google penalty. I think if the domain was banned at google that might effect you more. So, just check if the domain is banned/blacklisted at google, if it isn't, I wouldn't overly think about it. Especially if you're submitting to a small list of LL's.

Right now I submit to 22 LL, I'm thinking of dropping down to 16 LL to see how that would play in the SE/PR/Serp thing
