That could be. Might be a good idea to backup what you have there, then replace the connectors from the drive to the mobo. You could upgrade to a 133 for some performance boost since the card is backward compatible. If the drive is making strange noises you can assume that it's on its way out.
You could also go to www.grc.com and buy SpinRite, but it's up to you if you want to make that investment.
