It's the difference between a professional model and an amateur. The pros can do it without blinking but the amateurs never can. If you like pros then you want eye contact. If you want amateurs then you don't.

I know they're posing so they should be looking at the camera. It's also very important for join pages. Make a surfer look them in the eye and then say "no". It ain't easy.
