I've been through this once before :-(
The US will consider you to be officially importing the vehicle. It will be impounded and inspected to ensure that it meets EPA and Federal safety standards. Plan to spend a week or so in a border town while this is happening.
The simplest way to accomplish it is to have a Canadian purchase it, drive it to you and then sell it to you down there. This way it really only has to meet MS safety standards, which as we both know are non existant-lol.
There is no waiting list up here for the cars, there are several on every Mercedes lot.
