I do have to give NBC credit... during their version of the "camboy" story, they actually posted up some useful tips and ideas... and in a nice way blamed the collective parents out there.
They suggested not having the PC in a child's bedroom, but in a public part of the house (my sister has hers in the corner of the kitchen... she likes to cook and bake so she is often in there). They also suggested reviewing your child's buddy lists, chatrooms they may visit, and looking at their browsing history to see what they are up to. They also suggested installing or activating filters or "adult site blockers".
All good suggestions, and all the things that we as a group (and the adult industry, IMHO) need to support.
Children are only victims online if they are left alone, ignored, or if the parents are using the internet as the "next babysitter" after TV.
