I'm no expert but dogs and cats (especially cats) don't like to be sprayed with water so every time he/she decides to chew on the cable spray the little rascal and it'll soon start to associate the chewing on the cable with it getting sprayed. Tho it's kinda hard to go around with a spray bottle all the time
Wish it worked with kids lol
