I try to get my daughter a play date with a friend at our house for two reasons. One, when she and a friend are together they aren't bothering me and two, the other parent normally recips which means I have a number of hours to myself. My son is a teen and pretty independent now. If he's not sleeping he is usually at the skateboard park with his friends.
Oh yeah, let your kids stay up late and make sure you're the first up in the morning. Those early morning hours are my most productive.
