I don't have any issues with this. This country and others need military personal, that's a fact of life. Anyone see the news lately with North Korea? When I grew up I had a GI Joe doll which for me was the greatest thing, and yes it’s a recruitment tool. I idolized soldiers and thus grew up to be one. Isn’t that what we are taught from a young age? Go after your dreams, you can do anything you want. Much like little girls idolize Barbie and look what that little cute harmless doll creates in girls.

The only difference I see is the military is honest. Hey you will have a rifle in your hand and that means danger. The "vanity" problem does no such thing. Be skinny and beautiful and everything will be great. Be like this model or that model and the boy will love you.
To date roughly over 3000 soldiers have died in this war doing their job. Doing what they swore to do, in return they get major benefits like having college paid for in full, medical benefits for the rest of your life, pension for the rest of your life, housing paid for as long as you are in, housing bills paid for as long as you are in and the list goes on. Fact is there are still some places in the USA that give no options for kids otherwise. Growing up in the middle of no place does nothing for a child other then give them great drug habits and wonderful drinking skills. Some of these kids have no options for getting out of their towns other then the military.
Go and be a model or base your life on what you see in ads and look what can happen. Eating disorders are so bad; they don’t have all the real facts. They toss numbers around like .5%, 10% etc die every year. But no one knows for sure because people are afraid to get help. I’m sure if the number is even close to .5% that more people die every year then in this war 3 years combined.
In the future if there are no soldiers in this country and something does happen it’s going to be amazing to see all the complaints to the government for not implementing a draft. I remember wearing my uniform before 9/11 and having people still look at me like a piece of shit as if I was in Vietnam. Only to have those same fuckers try to buy me coffee for months on end after 9/11. If it were up to me everyone at 18 would serve for 2 years, end of story, men and women.
Advertising is just what it is, pure recruitment. We all do it everyday with porn. People don’t like the current government, fine. They don’t like the current president, fine. But this constant military bashing on this forum is tiring and getting old. Remember something, its people who wear those uniforms who let us sling porn. Try slinging it in other countries like China, Philippines, Korea and the Middle East. Cleo if you were in the Middle East you would be happy as hell to have those soldier standing by you, other wise those people would literally rip you limb from limb. Shit we would all be put in jail or have our heads chopped off. But you would be treated with extra special attention from them. If you people think for one minute that those people would not like to come here and clean everyone out, you’re in fantasy land. It’s people in the military who help prevent that. One thing is sure. As fucked as this country is it’s still the best one out there and it’s the military people who made it that way. Not your congressman. I for one would like to keep the limited freedoms that I still have and I would like to keep them for the rest of my life. If that means making cartoons out of soldiers on saturday mornings or putting ads in magizines that kids read then fine with me.
