"Western New York"..? Hmm, must be where they do all that line dancing and wear them big Stetson hats.
When I lived in Manhattan, the other four boroughs and everything outside them was Upstate New York. Actually, if you couldn't easily get there by taxi or subway, you were "going Upstate."
Besides...Wikiepedia says that you
do live in
Upstate New York.
But hey, invite me to the party next year and I'll call it anything you like.
