I would say to go ahead and submit, I don't see what exactly you have to lose. It only takes a few minutes of your time and it could be pay off nicely.
As far as corruption goes: thinking about this stuff could drive you crazy...but it's present everywhere. You just gotta do your best to not let it get to you.
