I was at my desk when a client icq'd to tell me to turn on CNN. My (then) business partner then relayed a message from his brother in Cyprus, that they were hearing that the Palestinians were attacking the US.
That day literally stunned me. I was in a trance all day unable to handle anything else. Numb.
My mother was to fly home from Hawaii that day via Dallas, which I confused with the radio reports that kept mentioning 'Dulles'. That was a little worriesome too.
We went to the bank to wire money to close on a site we purchased, and the world seemed empty. Everyone was home safe with their families, glued to the tv and counting their blessings.
