Good morning all

5 years ago today I was up and ready for work when the wife and I turned on the news. They broke away showing the first one hit. We sat stunned watching. I remember they said they were going to replay the plane hitting and then the second one hit it was from a cameraman on the ground pointing upward. The anchors thought it was a replay and I'm yelling at the screen its a second plane. I looked at my wife and said we are under attack as we watched for awhile and the anchors figured out it was a second plane.

I remember driving to work with my wife. We both, at that time worked in the LA/LB port for an american shipping company. The place where 75% of all products come in and out of the US. We know that in time of war that we could get attacked for it would devastate our economy. It was a very strange feeling being at work. After about an hour the company said for safety reasons they were shutting everything down and go home.

Spent the rest of the day in front of the TV a bit numb.
