Jim,
Most likely the problem with your high beams is the multi function (turn signal) switch or the high beam relay. The problem with your AC/Defrost is vacuum related. I think your truck is equiped with an electric vacuum pump located near the battery on the passenger side.
7 inches of rain here since midnight and it's still coming down hard. Looks like a good day to stay inside and get some work done.
