The SE spiders do seem to have a way of rewarding backlinks less if they come from the same places over and over again, but as long as you're not pushing things too far I don't think you'll have too much of a problem. Personally, I have more success when I link more carefully, and put the links there for the surfer's benefit.

Here's the official GG&J list of traffic sites. It's the best place to start, IMO. Searching is another good way to find lists over time too.

I'd say you're probably off to a good start, but like everything else in life, there's always room for improvement. It's best to think of things in terms of fresh content. Spiders see content. If you're just re-uploading your pages so the server shows a date change you probably won't get any "fresh content" benefit.

Also, the more pages you have the bigger is your web to lure spiders in. Just remember to keep your pages rich with unique text and the spiders will think your site is delicious and nutritous.
