It looks to me like you bought a doorway into an affiliate program where you have no control over the domain, site design, links, hosting, etc. in return for a share of the money. I.e., you get x%, your vendor keeps 100-x% for the costs of running the backend, hosting, design work, etc.

Was the sales pitch structured so that it looked like you would own a piece of a larger enterprise, throw traffic at it and collect money without having to manage/run the backend? If that is the case (and based on the statement above that you couldn't change anything), I think you're probably better off abandoning, learning from the board, and doing it right.

if on the other hand you own the domain, tour, etc, well, it might be more salvageable.

It really boils down to what you were actually sold. Your first task is to figure out what you actually purchased.
Exactly what I am thinking Sparky. If the domain and design are movable, they may be able to make something out of it.

It's sad that people do get suckered into any scheme like this. My Step-Son's Stepmother looked at buying about the same thing. She asked my advice before buying and I told her to run. Of course, she didn't listen and tried to make a go of it. She eventually lost interest and let it go. I think most of these people selling these things hope for just that to happen.
