The Pascagoula Parade is as different as night and day compared to the Pass Parade. Pascagoula may have 25,000 folks on the route, whereas the Pass Christian Parade will have 75 to 100,000. Before Katrina, when there were still buildings on the parade route, there would usually be a minimum of a keg every 5th or 6th building, yard, or whatever structure lined the route.
In 05 before the storm, we walked 5 miles from our "close" parking spot. Generally in the Pass, you park a vehicle on the route at least a week in advance or invest in good walking shoes. I had a buddy that used to charge 50 bucks a head for folks to stand in his yard right on the parade route.
It's low 40s right now here and the wind coming off the gulf would make it a bit chilly to stand out there today, plus I'm sure I'd wind up in jail for slapping the shit out of some drunk.
