have to pick up my nephew at the airport today as he is moving in with us to attend college. I don't think the 'moving down permanently' thing has hit him because even last night they were still figuring out what to pack and how to ship it. He has also confirmed that when he moves down, he wants to move to Linux (which already runs on his laptop) for the webdesign work and programming that he does. The final straw was when his machine started popping up warnings that it was trying to connect to all these different machines when he was just sitting there IMing me.

Greenie, was MML's father a TV repairman? I hear they have an awesome set of tools. Good luck getting that fixed -- I hate hardware problems.

So, a trip to the airport followed by a brief layover at McDonalds to prop up one of my stock holdings then a brief stop at a GameStop to purchase a new XBox game because he is the only one of his friends that didn't get the Halo3 Beta test package. Then I'm sure I get to fix linux on his laptop as he said it was doing something weird when he was running Gimp.

My wife's machine crashed recently, replaced it with new machine running XP. Itunes refused to let me move her Ipod to the new machine, it said, it is already synced with another machine, erase? Thank goodness for linux -- I was able to mount the IPod's filesystem, get a list of the songs, and then create a new playlist on her new machine, clear out the IPod and resync. I don't know how a household with only Windows machines can survive in this world.

What's the new slogan for vista? 3gb of ram ought to be enough for anybody?
