Wife is off work today, so with her and the kids distracting me I am likely to not get jack shit done today. Cold, rainy, and just a plain shitty day outside today.
During the warm days last week I was able to get the koi/goldfish pond going, so despite the cold I have been making myself go out there a couple times a day and watch the fish. 2-3 years ago I started out with 6-8 goldfish and on their own they have turned that into around 40. I only have 2 koi, but the one which is going on its 3rd year is now went from a 2-3 inch baby to a foot and half monster and will probably be 2 feet long by the end of this year. The other koi I have had 2 years and its a good 8-10 inches and will probably be well over a foot by the end of this year. The annual toad orgy oughta be coming up here within a couple weeks. Last year for 3 nights in a row I had well over 100 toads getting it on, then at least 10-12 after that every night for 2 weeks straight. That means 2 weeks of scooping/sucking millions of toad eggs out of the pond. I leave some in there to keep the toad population going, but its always fun in June to see 100's of smaller than a dime sized toads all over the yard.
