Agreed, but the reality is that it doesn't matter to them since they're stealing our sales via swaping out affiliate codes, taking over the surfers DNS and redirecting them to their own sites and or 'fake" join pages to get CC info, they use it to set up bot networks to send out their spam... We're nothing more than a source of traffic for these people.
The only thing we as WMs can do is tighten up our "networks" to ensure we only deal with known entities and don't let anyone unknown in. If we accept submissions, ensure the "trust" factor is high on all levels (the WM, their sponsors, their hosting etc.).. And write far more complex software and systems to detect "cheaters" and their networks etc.
Other than that, it's really up to the sponsors, i.e. always follow the money.. They need to seriously audit their affiliates.. The processors really need to audit the companies dealing with them as well.
But everyone is so busy chasing the dollars bills for today, I don't really see anything major happening.
