Personally, I always submit to the niche category unless there isn't one, then I fall back on movies.
On my LL, I don't have a general movie category but I'd still rather see the submit to the actual niche. You'd probably get more targetted traffic unless the site is just for a general hardcore/mutisite paysite or something.
