Stu - Past analysis is no guide to current analysis and one or two outliers don't affect the general statistical trend :-)
If I remember correctly, back in the 70s, scientists thought we were going to have a mini ice-age. Now they think it's all warming up (and that might cause an ice-age). Considering that they can't predict the weather accurately for Saturday, I don't think they can say with a great deal of certainty what's happening at the moment. Still, I'd rather err on the side of caution though :-)
