I think they wanted index because a few demand to be on "the actual index" to the freesite. So using porn.html or something similar won't be listed because it may or may not be the true index.
This is one of the reasons why i keep the submit list low, because i used 2 doorway pages to the same freesite like i used to do in the past and had trouble being accepted with a few sites that sent good traffic.
Now i use no doorways and actual index to the folder with no drop downs and get accepted without fail.

You must submit the index page of your site in "Site URL" field, no doorway pages.
Our reciprocal link must be placed on visible place, above "enter" link on index page.
