HostGator is a reseller for The Planet (formerly EV1) so you are not only subject to their rules, but also the rules that the Planet has. Remember, these guys do not specialize in adult hosting and there are so many quality adult oriented web hosting companies out there, that you should look at those first.
Next, let me comment on the resource allocation discussed above, read paragraph 7 a of the Terms and you'll see what the resource limitations are. Resource limits are something you should be aware of with any shared hosting solution.
The bottom line is do your homework and pick the best host for you, the niches you are going to promote and what kind of sites you are building.
