Not true. Legally, I don't think this issue has been resolved. And as far as link lists go, very few demand any type of 2257 statement on submitted free sites.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone state what MUST be used as the warning on the warning page. I know of a couple of submitters who use the 18+/Parental Advisory image and I've seen
warning pages which contain no warning at all. I think we all use the same standard warning because we lack imagination in that area and it's easiest to go with the flow.
