I think they are one of the same thing still, to me MILF is a slang term that started to get used a lot esp here in the UK when American pie came out.
If I am out with me mates and they see a bird who is basically over 30 they describe as a MILF. But I can see what the general view is and will try and estimate the old birds ages in future
