I dont have a blog directory, but I would imagine they take a considerable amount of time to get steady traffic, unless you have a good traffic source. you just have to keep at it
keep making more blogs and linking to it and people will eventually start submitting.
I'm in Vegas now, but spent much of my life in Arizona. Tucson to be exact. loved it there.
