Aw, Dad, you've done a lot of great things, but you're a very old man, and old people are useless

How the copyright works is very simple. You have permission to use the story on your own site - that's it. I have purchased resale rights to the stories myself, but I am not authorized to pass on those rights, only their use. If you need some form of copyright permission for broader distribution, I would have to put you in touch with the dealer, but can assure you it will cost you more than $8.

As for what google thinks, it is impossible for me to address that. For one thing, I do not see anything to suggest how they view the story. For another thing, I am simply saying that it can be used as content, not as any form of search engine optimized content, so in that scope, what google thinks is of no concern to me. If it is to you, then my recommendation would be to pay for original stories that were written specifically for you. I trust that these will cost you a great deal more than a penny each.

Grandma, your observation about neatopotatoe may be correct. I have never heard of that site, and haven't been to usenet since about 1995. I would imagine they get most of their stories from people sending them in. But again, that has nothing to do with me and isn't my concern.
