thats sad and i hope all will be fine with your daughther and i know as a parent you will do all to make her feel better or to make her go thru all her bad things.
I know from own experience kids wont forget fast, last year my daughther that time 12 or 11 was a withness seeing an accident where a man on a bike got hit by a car right infront of her nose and saw the man laying with his bleeding head under the wheel of the car, that time i posted it here on the board and got some nice advice from sheepguy, still more then a year later, my daugther still sees the woman who drove over the the man (yep she still drives a car even 70 years old and almost killed a person) and right away she mention it all again.
Kids wont forget fast, as a parent we only can do what we have in our power, alot of talking and try to help our kids as much as we can
