Huckabee is hoping to have some influence on the Republican Convention Platform. The real test for McCain will be his choice for running mate. If he chooses Huckabee, I think the Democrats will have a strong chance of winning in November. If McCain shows any independence and strong will, he will choose his best friend, Sen. Joe Lieberman. If Obama is the Democratic candidate, I think McCain will be under pressure to choose a running mate who could pull in votes from the South, thus Huckabee. If Hillary is the candidate, she will not win the South and McCain could choose anyone he wants. The Republican convention is after the Democratic convention. Huckabee could be the driving wedge for independents and undecideds to vote for the Dems.
