That would work, if you replace the component with a qualified Teraserver tech.

I'm no rocket surgeon so I can't tell you how to do it, but I think you may have to delete the array and set up a new one -- maybe there's an auto-setup utility? And choose "no" if there's an option to initialize the drives during the setup process.

Might be your RAID (SATA?) Controller.

Hopefully someone more qualified than we've demonstrated will be by soon.
