I was reading about sexuality in the Roman Empire, and Roman male free citizen was considered a "penetrator". He could fuck whatever he wanted, and there really wasn't the concept of homosexuality. Slaves, women, and god knows what else got penetrated. It was more of a social order and rights of passage not at all like sexual orientation as we think of it today.
It's interesting to me how culture determines attitudes toward sexual behavior. I think he rigid distinction between males and females in the way we dress and even in the way we fuck stems from Judea-Christian attitudes and beliefs, where I am located at least.
