It isn't as much hate war between *any* link list owners and OBS -- it is a protest over one website's practice of trickery. Do you want to have anything at all to do with sites that install adware or malware? If you build a nice, clean site, do you want to send any traffic at all to a website that is dishonest?

Over the years, sites like GG have set down standards that have really improved and cleaned up the pornsites. Back in the early days, it was nothing to have a website with about 10 pictures and 100 ads. Visitors had no clue what they were clicking on because blind links were the norm. We had few standards, if any. And the visitors paid through the nose for it.

LL Owners are not bosses -- not in any way. If you don't like the rules on one site, your visitors probably are going to like the sites that are listed there either. Their visitors have come to expect a certain quality of site. If you don't want to build a site they will list, don't let the door hit you on the way out. I view the LL Owners as partners, not bosses. If I build something they like, they list. Do I get listed everywhere I submit? No, but I am improving AND my visitors have a nice clean website that has no tricks or traps.

Maybe an illustration will help. You buy a certain brand of .. soup .. because you like it and you always know it will be good. Maybe there are a couple of flavors the manufacturer makes and you try and like, but when you want soup, you always come back to that brand. It's reliable and always pleases. To help it sell better, the manfacturer pays small stores to offer their visitors samples.

Now, here comes another soupmaker -- "I have great soup too!" It looks pretty good, and it tastes pretty good... until you really look at it. You have a bowl and an hour later, you are so sick because that bowl of soup wasn't properly made. You are down with food poisoning, and so is everyone who tasted that soup. (Or... those are not bits of meat in your soup, they are fecal matter.. you get the idea.. you were tricked into eating something that made you sick)

Now, what soup are you going to buy? Don't you wish someone had warned you about the other brand?

When we were kids, powdered coffee creamer had just come out and it was rather expensive -- much more than simple milk. We kids got my dad to stop using this stuff rather quickly by replacing all or part of his special creamer with a powdered laxative. About 2 weeks of this and he never bought it again. Milk did just fine for him.
