I usually love my dogs, except for those rare occasions that I'd like to leave the house or get some sleep or eat.
We have two boxers. While they are muscular dogs who look like they should be feared, they are both amazing with kids and, from what I'm told, it is one of their better traits. They take a lot of abuse from my son and actually look scared, as if they've done something wrong, if he intentionally rolls off the couch and lands on them. I tend to make my dogs sound like bastards, but that's only because they are as uncivilized as the the rest of us in this house. |
Everyone that I know that has a boxer talks about how good they with kids. Even the people that don't have kids around the boxer talk about how well the dogs handle kids on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
They could be a good choice.
