I agree. Why I don't say what I do is a diet, it is a healthy eating plan. It is pretty strict for 30 days, but it is for people like me that are carb addicts.
There is a great book by Drs Roizen and Oz called
You on a Diet. Really gets into the whole why you gain weight, the psychology, how to change your thinking, etc. Two of the major things? Add 30 minutes of walking a day, and don't eat 3 hours before you go to bed. Sometimes, just that will help you lose weight.
I watched a tv show with these two as they took middle aged people and helped them by reading labels and adding walking to lose weight. And they showed this one family parts from an autopsy what a normal heart and arteries look like, and what they look like in an obese person. OMG, that was

that was a great convincer I need to lose weight. They got people off diabetes and high blood pressure meds too.
